SUMMER SPECIAL SPLIT BILLING!!

featuring

 'Los Trios Blako'

with

'Sage and the others'

Croft Park Live Lounge, Little Weighton

'Los Trios Blako' are the amazing pedal steel guitar, acoustic guitar and vocals of Lynn Blakeston, with

excellent singer and songwriter, guitarist Rob Nicklas and multi instrumentalist Anita! 'The Beatles meet The Byrds

and Rock meets Country and all with a helping of witty banter included!

'Sage and the others' are a tri-Continental group including John Doyle (Ireland)

Quinn Needham (USA) and Simon Kemp (UK), playing acoustic roots music featuring stunning three part harmonies,

guitars and mandolin. They play our original songs along with a set of covers by bands such as Beach Boys, R.E.M,

Big Star, Neil Diamond, The Kinks, The Byrds, Joe Jackson, Merle Haggard , Elvis and Cole Porter to name but a few.

They have played to rave reviews from audiences in recent months at The Folk & Cider Festival in Cleethorpes,

the Guildhall sessions in Lincoln and also at the Sun inn at Beverley. Their own songs have been mistaken for

covers of classic rock and country acts by music loving audiences and we have been described as a cross between

Squeeze and Crowded House.

 Carrie Martin

https://www.carriemartin.co.uk/

Croft Park Live Lounge

A big welcome back to the HAM stage for the amazing singer and songwriter Carrie Martin!!

C          arrie is a true born and bred Yorkshire lass, born in Hull. She first picked up a guitar at the age of four and made her first public performance at the tender age of nine, playing at a school concert.

She later played clubs alongside her father, who worked the circuit as a guitarist and vocalist.

In 2011 came the real turning point when she attended a Gordon Giltrap concert only to be invited

to step in as support act when the opening act backed out.

Encouraged enormously by Gordon, she played and sang a short set of cover versions,

and even accompanied him at one point.

From this, and with Gordon’s support, she began to rebuild her musical career.

quite soon put out her first release, a seven-track EP entitled Luna, which gathered some

favourable attention. When she sent a copy to Gordon, he responded with amazement at

the quality of her songwriting, saying that he had no idea she was such a strong writer as well as performer.

It was at this point that he really stepped in to become her chief mentor and an extremely

close friend,

and she puts a great deal of the success she has had down to his friendship and unflagging support.

'It’s pretty obvious from the moment you hear Carrie Martin sing that she is an outstanding vocalist with passion in each breath.

Don’t be too sidetracked by that voice and stage persona and well crafted songs, because you might just miss the fact that she is a fine guitar player as well!'  Gordon Giltrap

Jeffery Straker

www.jeffstraker.com

(on UK tour from Canada)

“Very much an artist to watch” – Canadian Musician Magazine

Croft Park Live Lounge  Little Weighton

Jeffery Straker grew up taking piano lessons in small-town Saskatchewan and has gone on to perform over 100

shows per year across Canada, Europe and Latin America and I am delighted to once again add him to the HAM

calendar!

A clever lyricist with an energetic piano style, his song writing has drawn critical comparisons to the likes of

Harry Chapin, Kris Kristofferson , Murray McLauchlan &  Billy Joel, while maintaining a style distinctly his own.

He’s also recorded his music for CBC radio’s ‘Canada Live’, and

his songs have been used in film, TV and theatrical productions and in 2020 and 2021 Jeffery was awarded

“Roots/Folk Artist of the Year”  at the Saskatchewan Music Awards.

In 2019 he received his first Western Canadian Music Award.

The Saskatchewan Country Music Awards have named him ‘Keyboard Player of the Year’ 3 years running.

“Rufus Wainwright, as well as k.d. lang are among the Canadians making essential and beautiful music.

Add the name Jeffery Straker to that list”. The Chicago Free Press

“Traces of some of the best piano-based singer-songwriters of the past 40 years, couched in his inimitable

and effervescent style”.  The Calgary Herald
